Lord of the Rings Music
The
song that started it all! "Tolkien (The Hobbit & Lord of
the Rings)" is by far one of the most-popular songs on MP3.com.
It was voted Austin's #10 most-popular single by the Austin Chronicle
in 2002, and in January 2003, it was awarded a Gold Single status
by the Music Biz Academy.
An
energetic and mysterious song dedicated to one of the most lively
and interesting characters in the Lord of the Rings series.

This
song is a good environmentalist song about Treebeard and the Ents,
and the troubles they must face to thrive in a world where people
destroy without care.
The
first song written specifically for our Lord of the Rings
music tribute CD. Lively song that takes you to The Shire.
The
magical land of Galadriel and elves, "Lothlorien" captures
that magic on this CD.

Written
one wet and muddy morning at the Texas Renaissance Festival, this
song seeks to bring attention to the mischievious and brave little
hobbits, Merry and Pippin.
During
my reading of J.R.R. Tolkien's LOTR, I was inspired to write this
song by the famed escape to Weathertop. While staying in Bree, Frodo
met with the Ranger, Strider, who saves them from being slaughtered
by the Black Riders. The next morning, the companions flee Bree
heading down numerous back roads and winding paths to throw off
any followers. At last, they reach Weathertop only to have their
foes overtake them in the night.
Written
at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival, it's success inspired us
to break down and start planning our release of this Memories
of Middle Earth.
The Ring of

The
idea for this song was about the pipe smoke (like Old Toby and Southern
Star) that Tolkien begins with in Fellowship
of the Ring. As I developed the story, the song took on a life
of it's own. It's about Frodo's trusty companion Sam Gamgee, who
loves his master. After Frodo sails across the sea, Sam's pipe weed
and smoke rings are his only connection to his former master like
The One Ring that led to Frodo's departure.
A solo
recorder piece that evokes images of the Lady of the Wood's enchanted
mirror.
A spirited
song to capture the grace and beauty of Gandalf's beloved stallion.

Now It's Time
To Go (Bilbo's Farewell Song)

LOTR
has a very dark feeling to the story. Well I wanted a song that
was light-hearted and interactive with the audience for Memories
of Middle Earth. So I turned to the first few pages of Fellowship
of the Ring. There, Bilbo Baggins and Frodo Baggins celebrate Bilbo's
eleventy-first and Frodo's thirty-third birthday. During this grand
celebration of 144 guests (one gross), Bilbo gives a speech, addressing
his family and friends before disappearing from The Shire in a grand,
unforgettable manner.
The Psychopathic,
Chronic, Schizophrenic Gollum Blues

I was
flying on a plane to Italy and tired of trying to come up with song
ideas for Memories of Middle Earth when I decided to listen to the
airline music. I flipped channels, heard an old blues song, turned
off the music and wrote this comical song based on Gollum of the
Lord of the Rings.

Welcome
back to the Shire!
Reviewer: Joan Drushel
An incredible musical interpretation of Tolkien from the
beautiful instrumentals to the to clever and often humorous
lyrics. A must for any "Lord of the Rings" fan
as well as fans of simply good music.
Welcome
to Middle Earth
Reviewer: Amanda
This C.D. is truely a masterpiece. Let the instrumentals
work their magic of putting you into an unearthly trance
or sing along to the up beat vocals. I fall in love with
the music all over again every time I listen to the C.D.
It
just sweeps me away!
Reviewer: Sandy
I love getting lost in Middle Earth and this album definitely
assists me in this. The beautiful melodies take me away
to another world, one that I can return to time and time
again with just a click of a button.
Bards
and Tolkien, perfect together!
Reviewer: Brian Flatley
My favorite tracks are "Legolas", "Now it's
time to go (Bilbo's Farewell)", and " Psychopathic,
Chronic, Schizophrenic Gollum Blues", because they
show off the lighter side of the "Lord of the Rings"
fanatacism. All the songs are well arranged and executed
and will remind you of the parts of the story that they
are about. No self-respecting Tolkien fan should be without
it!
